“The Party”
When we arrived at Lexington Hall, I could tell that it was a small intimate gathering.
“Is this a family thing?” I quizzed.
“I believe so. You have to have an invitation to get in.” JeaNida explained. “This place isn’t that big, so they couldn’t have handed out too many passes to enter.”
It was a really nice establishment that the festivities were taking place in. I was thoroughly impressed. From the way it was decorated, to the caterers, all the way to the well-dressed staff that was waiting on folks hand and foot.
“This shit is off the chain!” JeaNida whispered as one of the hostesses showed us to our area. “I can’t wait to see who this Liam guy is!”
“Ms. Luckie, I will let Timothy know that you are here. He’s up in the office having a meeting with a couple of the players.” She informed us before departing. “If there is anything I can get for you, please let me know. Feel free to take advantage of the iced bottles of Bubbly and open bar. There is also a buffet as well as a menu for your convenience. There is no charge for any of our services this evening.”
“Well, in that case could you bring me one of your menus please?” JeaNida requested politely.
“I’ll be right back with it along with a couple of chilled glasses for your drinks.”
I didn’t say a word. I just sat back and basked in the ambiance. The music was on hit and so was the scenery. There weren’t many females, but the male eye-candy was good and plenty.
Within the next few minutes, Timothy was joining us and seemed to be a very polite young man. His looks and body were a definite plus.
“This is my good friend Cattleya D’mone.” JeaNida introduced.
“Naw, for real?” Timothy responded in shock.
He bent down and covered his mouth without taking his eyes off of me.
“You two know each other?” JeaNida hurried to ask with her face all tuned up.
“No, no I don’t know her, but I know of her.” Timothy laughed.
“I don’t think I understand.” I replied with a look of confusion.
“I know there couldn’t be another woman with such a distinctive name.”
“No, this is the right woman. This is my Cattleya.” Santos butted in and spoke.
Taking me into his arms with a firm hold, he placed several unexpected kisses upon my face and neck.
“What am I missing?” JeaNida interrupted.
“I was about to ask the same thing.” I spoke truthfully.
“Liam, I see why you were hiding this one.” Timothy joked.
JeaNida nudged him and asked if he was the one the party was being held for. They told us yes and then Santos pulled me away before they could grill us any further.
“I thought I was going to have to hire somebody to locate ya ass.” Santos confessed as he continued to hug me. “What happened to your cell?”
“It’s a long story, but it will be on Monday.” I replied with a look of embarrassment. “I have a house phone though.
